Twelfth Meeting of the Subcommittee on Justice, Freedom and Security

A representative of the Public Procurement Office participated in the Twelfth Subcommittee on Justice, Freedom and Security in the form of written responses to the questions submitted by the European Commission. The Subcommittee on Justice, Freedom and Security was held on 24 and 25 February 2026 in Belgrade.

At the Subcommittee on Justice, Freedom and Security, contributions prepared by the competent state administration bodies on the following topics were presented to the representatives of the European Commission: 1) Action plans for chapters 23 and 24; 2) Fundamental rights; 3) Judiciary; 4) Judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters; 5) Fight against corruption; 6) Criminal justice chain; 7) Fight against serious and organised crime and corruption, in particular high-level corruption, including proactive investigations and prosecutions, freezing and confiscation of criminal assets, money laundering and terrorist financing, smuggling of people, arms and drugs, the role and practice of security services in investigating serious and organised crime cases; 8) Cybercrime; 9) Law enforcement; 10) Prevention of money laundering; 11) Countering terrorism and violent extremism; 12) EU Action Plan for the Western Balkans, migration management, asylum and border management; 13) Visa policy alignment – ​​Further steps in alignment and operational measures for screening of travellers arriving without a visa, follow-up to the Seventh Report on the Visa Suspension Mechanism.

The representative of the Public Procurement Office, in accordance with his/her competences, informed the European Commission in writing about the latest information in the section “Fight against Corruption”, regarding measures to reduce the risk of irregularities in public procurement, with particular reference to the new versions of the Public Procurement Portal developed during 2025, strengthening the capacity of institutions in the public procurement system and strengthening their cooperation, as well as measures taken to strengthen monitoring of the implementation of public procurement regulations, as well as on infringement proceedings initiated by the Public Procurement Office.
