The Subcommittee on Justice, Freedom and Security was held on 11–12 March 2025 in Belgrade.
At the Subcommittee on Justice, Freedom and Security, contributions prepared by the competent state administration authorities were presented to the representatives of the European Commission on the following topics: 1) Action Plans for Chapters 23 and 24; 2) Fundamental rights; 3) Judiciary; 4) Judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters; 5) Fight against corruption; 6) Criminal justice chain; 7) Fight against serious and organised crime and corruption, particularly high-level corruption, including proactive investigations and trials, freezing and confiscation of criminal assets, money laundering and terrorist financing, human, arms, and drug trafficking, the role and practice of security services in investigating cases of serious and organised crime; 8) Cybercrime; 9) Law enforcement; 10) Prevention of money laundering; 11) Counter-terrorism and prevention of violent extremism; 12) EU Action Plan for the Western Balkans, migration management, asylum, and border management; 13) Visa policy alignment – further steps in alignment and operational measures for verifying visa-free travellers, monitoring of the seventh Visa Suspension Mechanism Report.
In line with its competences, the Public Procurement Office submitted written information to the European Commission under the “Fight against Corruption” section, regarding measures for preventing corruption in sensitive areas, with a focus on public procurement, particularly in relation to steps taken to reduce the number of public procurement procedures with only one submitted bid, and the outcomes of misdemeanor proceedings initiated by the Public Procurement Office.
