Ninth Meeting of the Subcommittee on Justice, Freedom, and Security

The ninth meeting of the Subcommittee on Justice, Freedom, and Security was held on 29–30 March 2023 in Belgrade.

At the meeting, contributions prepared by the competent public administration bodies were presented to the representatives of the European Commission on the following topics: 1) Revised action plans for Chapters 23 and 24; 2) Fundamental rights; 3) Judiciary; 4) Judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters; 5) Fight against corruption; 6) Implementation of the Law on the Organisation and Jurisdiction of State Authorities in Combating Organised Crime, Terrorism, and Corruption; 7) Fight against serious and organised crime and corruption, in particular high-level corruption, including proactive investigations and prosecutions, freezing and confiscation of assets acquired through crime, money laundering and terrorism financing, human trafficking, arms and drug smuggling, and the role and practice of security services in investigating cases of serious and organised crime; 8) Cybercrime; 9) Police; 10) Prevention of money laundering; 11) Fight against terrorism and violent extremism; 12) Migration and asylum management; 13) Border management and visa policy.

In accordance with its mandate, the Public Procurement Office submitted a written report to the European Commission under the “Fight against corruption” section, outlining measures for preventing corruption in sensitive areas, with a particular focus on public procurement.
