Eighth Meeting of the Subcommittee on Justice, Freedom and Security

The Subcommittee on Justice, Freedom and Security was held from 9–10 March 2022.

At the meeting, the European Commission was presented with contributions prepared by the competent state administration authorities on the following topics: 1) Revised action plans for Chapters 23 and 24; 2) Fundamental rights; 3) Judiciary; 4) Fight against corruption; 5) Implementation of the Law on the Organisation and Competence of State Bodies in Combating Organised Crime, Terrorism, and Corruption; 6) Fight against serious and organised crime and corruption, especially high-level corruption, including proactive investigations and prosecution, freezing and confiscation of criminal assets, money laundering, and terrorist financing, trafficking in human beings, firearms, and drugs; 7) Police; 8) Anti-money laundering; 9) Combating terrorism and violent extremism; 10) Migration management and asylum; 11) Border management and visa policy; 12) Judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters.

In line with its competences, the Public Procurement Office reported in writing to the European Commission, under the section “Fight against corruption”, on:

  • Steps taken to enable the Public Procurement Office to perform its monitoring and oversight role, including the establishment of a centralised database on public procurement procedures;
  • Implementation of the Operational Plan adopted in 2021.
